Take a break from cooking and treat yourselves

Dining out around here is less expensive than most places so it won't strain the wallet. The food and service however is excellent and campers remark on it.

Our favourites are:

  • Hotel Metropole - Llandrindod Wells.
    Delicious food, AA Red Rosette.
    Spencer's Bar for snacks.
    01597 823700 - www.metropole.co.uk
  • Roast Ox Inn - Painscastle.
A most welcoming country pub in the small village of Painscastle, that allows dogs inside. Reached by a lovely drive over the moors, good home cooked food and real ales and ciders. About 5 miles from Fforest Fields
    01497 851398 - www.roastoxinn.co.uk
  • The Lion Hotel - Builth Wells.
Under new ownership & totally refurbished.
This hotel comes highly recommended by our customers.
Dinner, lunch and bar snacks served. 01982 553311.

  • Hundred House Inn. Hundred House
    Great beer too. 1 mile. 01982 570231 .
  • Seven Stars. Aberedw
Excellent food, local guest beers and a very warm welcome.

  • Red Lion. Llanfihangle nant Melan
    Michelin award. 5 miles. 01544 350220.
  • Erwood Inn. Erwood
    10 miles. 01982 560218.
  • The Harp - Old Radnor.
A traditional old pub with roaring log fires and delicious food.
    01544 350 655.

Remember this is a very sparsely populated area so we have to drive or take a taxi (but the fares are very reasonable -- get a quote)
