Walking is one of the most popular activities here

There are many lovely walks on the farm tracks and woodland paths, some easy, others more arduous. See our site map.

The farm walks are way marked and points of interest noticed. There is much wildlife and lots of species of birds. For example one of the woodland trails takes you past a lake, an ancient motte & baillie mound, there's a huge badger set and then a tall waterfall. All within the first half mile. Other paths lead to the hill above the campsite where you can walk the springy turf and see for miles and miles.

Long walks:
Many long walks start from the campsite as well. There's a good circular ten mile walk over the hill to an excellent pub at Aberedw in the next valley and a different route to return.

Another is to search out the ancient British hilltop forts on Carneddau, a rocky hill some two miles distant.

Along the banks of the beautiful river Wye there is the famous Wye valley walk. Starts can be easily made from Builth, Erwood and Newbridge.

Offa's Dyke is close by too and many campers enjoy exploring the well marked mid-Wales sections that wind through this spectacular marches countryside with its steep sided wooded valleys and open hilltops.
