About Fforest Fields PDF Print E-mail

Fforest Fields touring caravan and camping park is four miles from the historic market town of Builth Wells and the Royal Welsh Showground. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Heart of Wales provides some of the most peaceful and unspoilt countryside in Britain yet it is easy to get to.

It is very quiet too with no traffic noise thanks to it being located some way from a little used main road.

The site is situated in the middle of our family's hill farm. And visitors are welcome to explore our lakes and woodland and moorland walks.

There are thousands of acres of adjacent moorland rich in wildlife. The campsite is seven acres and almost flat. The very large pitches are well spaced and cleverly set out within the landscaping so as to be screened from one another by trees. There is a large overflow field, Sports field, which we use at peak times.
There are no static caravans, no swimming pool nor a clubhouse so the campsite remains nice and peaceful through the day and night!

A mountain stream gurgles its way through the site leading to shallow ponds in which children love to play.

There are lots of electric hook-up points and a very clean modern toilet block where the hot water and showers are free. There is a laundry and washing-up room which has deep sinks, washing machines, spin dryer and tumble dryers. There is a chemical toilet disposal point.

Dogs (and other pets) are welcome, they love it here. There are lots of walks they can be taken directly from the campsite. We even have two "dog scampers" on the site itself where they can be let off the lead. We permit a maximum of two dogs per pitch unless expressly asked.

The grass pitches are kept close mown and the many banks and wildlife areas left completely natural.
There are masses of birds and small mammals that live in the havens of the hedgerows, wild banks and stream verges. Up in the woods overlooking the site there is even more to see.
