Loos and Laundry at Fforest Fields
 Loo Block

Loo BlockLoo BlockWe have one central, purpose built, loo block at Fforest Fields which we keep immaculate. While the block is not in the first flush (!) of youth, we do keep it very clean and tidy. It is freshly painted every year and we take pride in the comments of our visitors that praise the cleanliness of it.

 Facilities

Showers There are three shower cubicles in both the ladies and gent's sides of the loo block, with electric, high power, showers. The cubicles have hooks for hanging your clothes up and mats for standing on. There are four loos, four hand basins, and hand dryers for both girls and boys. Both the ladies and gents have hair dryers (20p in slot) and there is a plug for you to use your own hair dryer in the ladies side. There are shaver points above the mirrors in the gent's side and four urinals.

All the water for washing, showering and doing the dishes is free.


 Laundry

Laundry UnitLaundry UnitIn a separate building, the laundry unit has two, front loading, washing machines and two tumble dryers and we ask you to give us the money for their use. There is an iron and a small board and we also have a baby bath and changing mat, which you are most welcome to take into your tent to use for babies. There are also three big sinks with draining boards for washing dishes and a separate one for washing clothes.

 Dustbins and recycling

Behind the loo block is the dustbin area and bins for recycling glass, paper and tins.

 Reception

In the reception we have a fridge and freezer for your use. While we don't charge for this we do ask that you remember that other people are using them too and keep the amount stored at a reasonable level. If you write your name on anything you put in there we can drink any leftover wine after you have gone home!

 Shop (well just a fridge actually!)

We also have a fridge stocked with some basic supplies that you might need, semi-skimmed milk, butter, fresh orange juice, local bacon, eggs and bottled water, you are welcome to help yourself and put the payment in the honesty box.

 Telephone

There is a telephone box with a pay phone on site. T Mobile and Vodaphone are good, Orange patchy and O2 non-existent! The warden, we can always be reached via a free-phone button on the campsite telephone.

 Gas

We stock Calor Gas (in various sizes) and Camping Gaz 904 and 907.


While over busy periods the facilities might struggle to keep up with demand at peak times, this soon passes and waiting is never very long and normally quite sociable! Many of you will know that we are planning a completely new block in the near future. We have planning permission through and we very much hope to build at the end of this season.
