Welcome!

Thank you for visiting our new website, I hope that you find it easy to use and informative. It is only as useful as you want it to be so please do log on and let us know if there is anything else that you would like to see in it or any glaring mistakes that we have made.

The FAQ section I can see is going to be one of the most useful sections on the site, questions like when do you close for winter, do you take dogs, do you have 16amp electricity are all going to be answered there.

You will be able to upload multiple photographs, great news for you Bill! And then vote on them so YOU choose the 'Pic of the Week'.

I hope that you enjoy it and it helps give you a flavour of Fforest Fields. Laughing

Dear Carol, firstly CONGRATULATIONS on being the first to post on the new site! I'm sorry that you are not getting the full glory of it though, I am sure that Harry will be around later and will see what you have written and might be able to help. I am sure that it will envolve emptying your cache though!
Empty your cache
written by Harry Adams, October 19, 2008
Hi, yes indeed, if you are having any problems with the new site, emptying your cache should do the trick. This is sometimes necessary as not only have we completely changed the entire site, but while the build was in progress the old FF site was temporarily hosted on a different domain (etherbunny.co.uk). If you need instructions on how to empty your browser cache, let me know using form under "Webmaster" in the new "Contacts" section of this site - tell me whether your browser is Firefox, Internet Explorer or any other and I will add the instructions to the new FAQ section.

Old logins need to be renewed
written by Harry Adams, October 20, 2008
Hi all,

For those that have tried, your OLD logins from the last FF site won't work here, and you will need to re-register (sorry about that).

Registration on this new site gives you these extra options:

1) The ability to change the page background colours to suit your mood.
2) The ability to leave comments in the news section
3) The ability to upload your own photos directly into the Gallery
4) The ability to add your own comments to any photo in the gallery
5) A "User Menu" appears in the left hand column and allows you to check and update your details.

All the above extra options only become visible to you once you are logged in. You can register in several places in the site:-

a) Under "Member Login/Create Account" in the right hand column of most pages.
b) With the "create account" icon in the header bar of all pages (just under the login username box)
c) With the "Register with us" item in the "Forms" menu.
d) With the "Join Us" button at the bottom of all pages.
e) From the "Join the site" option in the left hand column's "Quick Picks" slider.
f) With the "Register" link in the main Gallery page
g) Direct from this URL: http://www.fforestfields.co.uk...er-with-us

Colour Changing
written by Harry Adams, October 20, 2008
Hi Carol, if you can see the Colour Changing options under the "Home" menu then you are logged in successfully. Same applies to being able to add a comment to the news - you can only do that if you are logged in, otherwise the system would not allow it and would tell you that you need to be logged in to leave a comment.

So you have got it sorted... smilies/smiley.gif

Yes, still doing Pic of the week, for the latest one look at the top of the page, just above the butterfly! AND you will be able to vote for them in future....at the end of the week we shall just choose the one with the most votes.
"Pic of the Week" - make your vote count!
written by Harry Adams, October 20, 2008
Katie has made a very slight error above - where she says "you will be able to vote for them in future"

The photo gallery ALREADY allows you to "rate" any photo on a scale of 1-5. The votes are counted by the gallery system and the one with the most votes will get to be "Pic of the Week"... You do not have to be logged in to rate a photo, but you do have to be logged in to send a photo as an "E-Card" to a friend, or to add a comment to a photo, or to upload your own photos (if you are logged in there will be an "upload file" link in the gallery menu). So upload your photos and maybe yours will be featured in the "Pic of the Week" panel (at the very top centre of each page is a black tab labelled "Pic of the Week", click it and a panel will slide down to show you the currently featured photo).

Where's the rain?
written by Kev and Tracy, October 25, 2008
Hello Katie and George, the old version was great but the new version is excellent, hope Harry is proud of what he's achieved.
I have a question about the home page though. Where are the photos with the grey sky/rain on the slide show? smilies/cheesy.gif I have to admit the place looks even better when the sky is blue and we'll have to try to fit in a visit when/if it appears next year.
