Special offer

We have just had our first winter visitors to Ffynnonau who usually come and stay at Fforest Fields during the summer months. What fun it was! The house was let for Christmas and then following that we had four people who have been staying with us for many years on the campsite.

We would love more of you to come and so Natalie and Will are offering the house at half price to anyone who has been a  regular visitor to Fforest Fields, just up until the end of March. Just think, for the price of a meal for two at a swanky restaurant for Valentine's night, you could stay at Ffynnonau AND take your family or friends with you!    You can contact Natalie through the website http://www.holiday-cottage-mid-wales.co.uk/ or call me.

It has just been pointed out to me that I have not changed the dates or prices for 2009 on our website - wrist duly slapped and I will sort it this weekend. The good news is that they don't need to be changed much because we are HOLDING our 2008 prices!

The boys are working hard at completing the changes to the road system, this weather has been wonderful for working with the roads and the digging and today they managed to backfill a trench before the promised weather-break on Sunday. Steve has been working on the loo block and it will look a lot better when we are finished. Same old loo block I'm afraid for anyone hoping that we have put up the new one, but new floors and lighting and re-painting will certainly help make it look more up to date.

New Year holiday at Ffynnonau
written by betty oakley, January 18, 2009
Hi Katie, Just to say how much we enjoyed the New Year at Ffynnonau. The weather as you know was very cold, but beautiful with all the frost etc. However, the house was so lovely and warm and inviting, especially the log burning stove. So nice to see a real fire again. We deposited our boots and coats in the boot room and proceeded into the house, passed the downstairs loo, very useful, and into the lounge with the fire.

Then of course there was the kitchen and for me the DISHWASHER. Wow, load, put tabs in, shut door, switch on,done.
Not having one at home this was a real boon.

Upstairs we had two bathrooms, ours had a bath and shower and
at the other end of the landing our friends had bathroom with walk in shower, what more do you want.

The views are stunning and we had some lovely walks escorted by Phoebe our friends dog, who incidentally would take us for the walk because she knew the way. It was magical with the frost on the trees and the frozen ponds.

All in all we had a lovely New Year and would express our thanks for making it possible.

Love to all...............Betty & Harry.
