Another busy week!

Thank you Harry for posting a reminder that I really should write some more news. Even though it seems to me that it's just another day doing work on the campsite, of course, to you it is news! So, where to start? Well, the boys have been digging more pipes in, this is to prevent (hopefully!) the flooding that happened at the bottom part of the site last season. They have made some changes to the stream that runs round the back of the 40's and taken it off higher up. It has also allowed us to put in the piping for the underground heat exchanges that will keep the new loo block warm. I believe that they have also run pipes through it so we can have a shower over by the long lake so perhaps we won't get quite so much grit and clay in the main showers!

We have done quite a bit of upgrading to the loo block too, a new floor, with a bright new lino; it is having new lights and will be freshly painted before the season starts. The floor is in the washing up area too.

We are meeting this week with a local re-cycling company to try and improve our facilites, although you are wonderful and use them extensively, we find that the double handling takes up valuable time and it would be good if another company could get the benefit of it.

The road surfaces have been laid and finished. There still seems a lot to do but luckily with Easter falling a bit later this year, we still have plenty of time. As we know the finishing touches are what take the time.

Next on the agenda are the AWP's for large tents, and tents staying a week or more. We still have patches left from tents last year. I know it was exceptionally wet but the damage done to the ground is quite extensive and something that we want to prevent if we can.

Don't forget that you can now send E-CARDS of your favourite places and pictures of Fforest Fields to your friends. We are coming up to a new Pic of the Month and so why not encourage all your friends and family to VOTE for your favourite picture of Fforest Fields and see it wins! If you have any pictures of the site or the surround area then you can post them, it isn't difficult. Let us all enjoy your special moments of staying here.......I am sure that there must be some of children playing, dogs running, dads cooking, mums resting.....well, perhaps not many of those!!
