I hear you!
Now, where were we? Yes, the SNOW, actually we didn't seem to get as much as some of the other parts of the country. I have got some pictures but they are on Will's camera and I can't seem to download them. He's away at the moment and I will get him to sort them out as soon as he gets back on Wednesday. I think that they probably deserve an album of their own so I might send the whole shooting match to Harry and ask him to put a new album on the site then you can upload any that you have taken too.
We did manage one day of bog-togganing, but only one, the rest of the days were too warm and the snow turned to slush pretty quickly. I think that my parents in Dorset had more than we did and I know that some of our regulars from south Wales had exciting times with bridges being closed and motorways. The worst was that it stopped work on the site for a couple of weeks which is taking a time to catch up on. George and at the moment Ollie, are working flat out at getting back the days that were missed. The site is beginning to look more normal again after being dug up!
They have finished the new entrance and road, that is going to make such a difference to the site. It means that cars will come and go over one piece of road and not drive round the site. It will make the areas at the top and where you used to come in much quieter (lucky seasonaires!) The new terrace is finished on the old dog-walk, it will be a perfect place for motorhomes and they are busy putting in the electric hook-up points at the moment. There will be a new dedicated dog-walking area just outside the site, above the Long Lake.
We are putting new electric hook-up points on some of the tent pitches and are still hoping to get the all weather pitches done before the season starts. After last year and all that rain some of our tent pitches still have no grass on them. We shall be replacing them with a suitable hardcore that can be used by tents or caravans and will mean that we won't have to ask tents to be lifted after five or six days.
We have put a new floor in the loo block and new lighting. The ladies now has a smart 'make up mirror' with a light and better lights above the sinks. The laundry blokc has the same new floor too. I know that we hope to build our new block as soon as we can (houses still for sale if anyone is interested!) but we felt that the old one needed some upgrading.
Ah! And we are waiting for the fish supplier to get back to us and hope to have the Round lake stocked before the season starts...hooray!
Now, I'm going to do battle with the camera and see what I can get off it and get that to Harry......we shall be changing the 'pic of the week' soon so please vote for the one you like the best.
