A first for Fforest Fields and some astounding photography

 

No, not the lesser spotted something bird, or the greater spotted frogs spawn but the blue tipped, pink skinned, no-wet-suited SWIMMER! This has got to be a first, I should think in any swimming pool or lake at Easter in Wales!!  The weather was so wonderful last weekend that it brought out the madness in one lovely little person who jumped in and swam around the Long Lake. Through chattering teeth she did say that when she comes again in a few weeks she will bring her wet suit though!  I think that is probably very sensible.

We celebrated another first this weekend too. A proper sailing boat on the lake. Captain Purkiss launched and was instantly becalmed! It was a wonderful Easter, a wonderful start to the season and hopefully a good omen of the weather to come this year.
