First of May

I'm never certain what we call this bank holiday and personally I would rather see one at the end of June instead - just to spread them out a bit more. The forecast is doing us some favours; It is good news that the Jet Stream seems to have shifted so the Azores High might make a bit more of appearance this year. We shall wait and see huh?!  Traditionally, for many years we had the Paramania Fly In on the site this weekend.  Mike Campbell-Jones, a great guru of all things flying, used to say that statistically this weekend was the most likely to throw up a high, giviing north westerly winds and therefore flying on the ridge above the campsite.  Over the years that we had it here there were certainly more opportunities to fly than to sit in the bar - both were equally welcome though!
