Christenings and Welsh Whisky!
Last Sunday, the 4th, Florence Rose was Christened in the same church where Will and Natalie had been married exactly a year before. It was a lovely day, after the rain and wind of the few before, the sun shone on the autumn coloured leaves and a very happy crowd gathered to wish her well. I am sure that photographs will follow! My dear parents, Mum very nearly 90, made the journey up from Dorset and stayed the weekend. It all seemed to pass very quickly and before we knew it Ollie and Jess were back at their homes and Mum and Dad safely back in Dorset. We then had torrential rain.....the first this season, amazingly, after last year, it had not rained since the beginning of September, just before the Hundred House Show. It was welcomed! We have been having a roof on a barn repaired and they had just finished topping out when the heavens opened - such timing!
The campsite has been pretty quiet since the middle of September. On the 12th/13th we had nearly as many people on site as we had for the August bank holiday which was quite a surprise, of course many had not booked, just seen the weather and decided to go camping...it was lovely to see so many people. There are just a few die-hards at the moment, although an extra boost of the South Wales Working Breeds Show being held on the Royal Welsh Showground has kept our numbers up for a few days.
Later this morning George and I are off on a jolly to be shown round the Penderyn Distillery http://www.welsh-whisky.co.uk/index.html We belong the the C.L.A. and organisation that does a lot of work helping and improving the lot of the farmer, and the local branch has arranged a visit......I wonder who will be driving home!
