Happy Christmas!
With the snow melting and slippey slidey ice covering the roads instead it seems a sensible time to sit inside and write you all a Christmas thank you!
At this time of year it sometimes seems impossible to think that only a short while ago we had so many staying and enjoying the wonderful scenary that is mid Wales. We are delighted that we have been able to create somewhere that you can come to and share this little piece of peace and quiet with us. Watching the news over the last few days the rest of the country has seemed a million miles from Fforest Fields. Yes, we have had snow and freezing conditions but it feels right at this time of the year.We have one couple braving the campsite for Christmas, they are having a wonderful time (or so they tell us!) Then a few more more arriving on Saturday and several more for the new year. It is the first time that we have opened over this time of year and we are so pleased that some are taking the plunge and coming to stay.
We want to thank you all for visiting us in 2009. You have made this a very special year for us. The great joy, as I always say, of running the site is meeting such lovely people and this year has been no exception. We have welcomed back many old friends, some who had not visiting for a number of years and were delighted with the way the site has grown so organically. We have also had the great pleasure of meeting new people, many of whom, I know (because they have already booked!) we shall be seeing again next year.
I suppose one of the highlights has been winning the Special David Bellamy Award. This award, given to ten camspites only, a year, marks a very special milestone for us. We have always strived to keep the site as natural and empathetic with the surroundings. (Oh! And becoming grandparents too!!)
So, away with me to make more mince pies (the last lot have already been eaten!)
We all send you our very best wishes for a happy Christmas and a peaceful new year that might just include a visit Fforest Fields in your resolution!
