We think this must be Penny Bow-Wave, she is very friendly and just seems to know her way about. She arrived with Mr. Bow-Wave and four cygnets, the other day when the lakes were still frozen.
They have sensibly set up camp by the waterfall in the Round Lake. They seem completely unfazed by dogs and photographers! They are all looking absolutely magnificent. The cygnets are about half moulted, they are looking whiter by the day. It would be such a pleasure if they set up home with us, we might not have enough reed growth for them to build a nest at the moment but the amount is increasing every year so it I am sure it will be suitable before too long.

We have had a bit more snow this morning, nothing too much but it is sticking to the ground in an unpleasant way! I am sure that it will be gone by tomorrow, it does not have the look of the last lot we had. We have actually been very lucky this winter, although it has been cold and we had about 8" of snow in total, at all times the council kept the main road open. The excitement was getting down our drive!
Harry is working on the updated website at the moment, so keep your eyes open! It won't be a new one, just refreshed and updated. We have plans for Jess to come and do some more filming and to make an inter-active map so people can click and see the views from any particular place. If there is anything that you would like to see on the website, anything that you think might make it more informative or easy to use please let us know and we shall certainly consider your suggestions. After all it is YOU who use it!
