Alan and Run31

So, what are we talking about when we say that we are going to support Run31?  Alan Williams, who we first met when he and Will at school together, somewhere in the distant past, is trying to raise £31,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust by running 31 races this year.

Why £31,000?  Well the number thirty one is pretty significant for Alan and for sufferers of CF.  It was his 31st birthday on Christmas Day 2009 and thirty one, until recently, has been the average life expectancy of someone suffering with Cystic Fibrosis.  Alan was diagnosed at the age of four and since then he has had to take up to 25 tablets a day to keep his condition under control.   He is lucky and there are many worse off than him.

I know that there are always a lot of good causes, as I write this Sport Relief is getting under way, but this is special, Alan is special and we really hope that his cause might move you to offer him your support.   All the money that we raise from your donations for borrowing aerials, fire pits and any other offerings on the site will go straight to Alan.

Please go to his website www.run31.org.uk and read all about the challenge and how you can help. He has already done six races, including the Tokyo marathon; if you look at the list of events that he is planning to do you might find one near you that you can go and support him at.  Thank you!
