Bank holidays at Fforest Fields

Print PDF

A number of years ago we identified that a bank holiday has the ability to make or break a campsite!

Of course it is a time when people want to take advantage of three nights away, making the trip far more valuable but it is also a time when a camping experience can quickly turn sour. Overcrowding and noise on sites seems to the number one criticism from visitors to any site that does not put the customers’ first.

So we operate a slightly different system here at Fforest Fields, we never say that we are full but that we are up to our numbers. This is because we put a limit on the number of people we are happy to take at a bank holiday, or busy time.  We want everyone who visits us to have as good a time as possible.

Unfortunately this can lead to disappointment, especially if a friend wants to come and camp and finds that our limit has been reached. It can be difficult when people turn up and find empty pitches and ask why their friends were turned away.  But we firmly believe that it is an important part of our ethos. I do have a waiting list and I will contact the next person on it if we have a cancellation.....promise!!

Have to agree with everything you have said Katie, nothing worse than being herded together like cattle, spoils any chance of relaxation and causes stress due to noise and the hustle and bustle with large amounts of people that the sites cannot cope with. Hope there are plenty of spaces from sunday 6th June as we are hoping to come for 4 or 5 days depending on Chris and hospital.

cheers
