Frosty days and Opening dates 2012

It's another beautiful cold day! It is Murphy's Law as we have got to a stage with the new loo block where we are working inside and could of done with this weather for the last couple of months while we were outside!  Mind you it's hardly warm in there yet, we still just have the 'skin' of the building together but it's getting there!

With this in mind and being able to see just how fast the build is going we are sticking to our original thoughts of not opening for Easter and at the moment I'm not going to take bookings for the first May bank holiday, although we do hope to be open by then, it will give us that leaway that we need in case of hicups!

One other additon is a bunk room, it will be able to sleep up to eight people and available to book. As it is a bunk room the facilities will be basic and you will have to bring your own sleeping bags (and might find yourselves sharing with other people!) but we have had a number of enquiries for one and it also alows for those disaster moments, like turning up with no tent poles, or arriving very late. I say it will be basic but it will still have underfloor heating!

Any changes to our opening dates will of course be on here and on our Facebook page.

The work has been going on apace and the building is really starting to look like like it was in our mind's eye. The lovely fellows from Kingsland Timber Buildings http://www.kingsland.uk.com/ are doing a magnificent job. I really can't recommend them more highly as skilled and cheerful workmen. There is still a very long way to go!

Our prices for 2012 are on the website and you will notice that they have gone up a small amount, although I don't think that £18.00 per night for two people, caravan/tent, awning, electric hook-up too much, just up £2 from last season.  We have extended the childrens' age to 18yrs.  There are special rates for retirees and also for winter pitches (we shall be open next winter until just after new year!)

It's George's birthday today so I must off and make that cake! I do hope that we have not disappointed too many by not opening early and that you will be able to visit later in the season.

I have put more photographs of the build in the Album http://www.fforestfields.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=9

The roof tiles start to go on. You can see the veranda and the vertical boarding that will clad the outside of the building.

Happy Birthday to George for yesterday, it was my birthday too! I hope he enjoyed his cake :-)
We are really looking forward to seeing the finished building (it looks fantastic so far) and also can't wait to come and stay at Fforest Fields again this summer.
