The good........and the not so good....
I don’t usually feel moved to write to campsite owners, but we have just spent one of the best weekends in Fforest Fields and would like to thank you for all your hard work in creating a perfect site: everything is so orderly in a relaxed way and you seem to manage to keep smiling despite the drain drama! We have told lots of friends about the site already and hope to be back soon to enjoy some more roasting hot Welsh sun!!!

So you think you'd like to run a campsite??!!

Yesterday, for almost the first time EVER, certainly on a bank holiday weekend, George and I accepted an invitation to lunch. It is not a normal event, and this was not just a normal....

Lovely day today - 'bout time too!
It’s been lovely here today; it’s looked like it was going to rain a couple of times and we’ve had spits and spots but it’s stayed clear. It’s getting a bit chilly now though, sun still shining brightly into my office. Fingers tightly crossed for a good weekend. It sounds as if it is at least going to be warmer.

Nice words!
One thing I really would like to say is I have spent many holidays in Guernsey lived there for a couple of years and my own personal thoughts of that lovely holiday island...." If God made heaven on earth He made Guernsey first" now I can add and He made Fforest Fields next"

Swallows return.........
George has just come back from the campsite and reports that there is one, cold and rather surprised Fforest swallow flying about. I know, perhaps they are not Fforest swallows, but we like to think of them as ours! The first sighting this year, is it early? I can't remember

Bear and Bee
I have a wonderful friend from America who sends me a constant supply of jokes and funny emails; the one this morning was the winners of the National Georgraphic photographic competition. There are about 20 amazing pictures but this one made me laugh out loud!!

News from Fforest Fields
I went riding two days ago and got gently snowed on above about 1200'; the top of the Aberedw Hill. I have just been sent a disc of pictures taken by a friend as he paramotored above the site last August bank holiday - I am going to take them off to Harry for him to make a new album. They will remind us that even last year we had some wonderful weather!

Another wet weekend in Wales!
Ugh! I thought Easter was pretty foul but today has been just as horrid! I take my hat off to the few people staying on the site, they are amazingly stoic……Clare Williams sent us this photograph of staying with us over Easter, I am mighty glad that Easter won’t be this early again until 2228 - hooray!!

Bacon among the best in Britain!
We have always had our lovely bacon from our local butcher in Builth Wells. Originally it was Julian Powell and after he died Eric, his long time assistant, took over the shop. I called in there today to put an order in for Easter and noticed that they had been recommended by the Guardian Food Directory. The directory, which calls itself ‘The ultimate guide to Britain’s finest independent shops and suppliers, had written about Eric’s shop “Local, fully traceable meat. It employs two chefs who ensure a constant supply of high-quality savouries, including cooked meats, pies, ready meals and salads. The current bestseller is the extensive range of handmade sausages with flavours including lamb and garden mint, and pork and black pepper” We can vouch for their ribeye steak over a barbeque too! Praise indeed and we are lucky to be able to get all our supplies from them.
