A Few Local Places To Eat

There are some fantastic places to eat out near Fforest Fields, from proper local pubs with hops still dangling from the ceiling, to cafes, fine dining and even a local tapas bar!  We are big fans of stumbling across pubs and eateries in the region, but if you are looking to find something just right then here are some ideas of great place to eat near Fforest Fields.

The Hundred House Inn

You can easily walk to the Hundred House Inn from the campsite, with most of the walk on the farm and a little on the road.  It is about a mile from the site and serves hot food and a good selection of ales.

The Fforest Inn

One of the friendliest pubs in the area, the Fforest Inn is 5 miles from the campsite and have a good ‘pub food’ menu that will stop that tummy from rumbling!

The Roast Ox

Just the best Sunday Roast! This lovely pub in the pretty village of Painscastle is a little treat and has good outside seating for sunny days.  The drive over to the Roast Ox will treat you to far reaching views across towards the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

The Cwtch Cafe

A little vintage styled cafe in Builth Wells that sells indulgent hot chocolates, cakes and sweet treats and has a good menu of lunchtime staples.

Richie’s at The Ridgebourne Inn, Llandrindod Wells

This is a locals favourite, great atmosphere and a good menu that will satisfy even the hungriest camper among you!

Foyles of Glasbury, Glasbury near Hay on Wye

Foyles is situated in the pretty riverside village of Glasbury-on-Wye, just upstream from the literary town of Hay on Wye with its many bookstores. The Grade 2 listed building has been carefully restored to provide a stylish & comfortable restaurant. Lunch and dinner a la carte menus run alongside afternoon tea and light bite choices

The Harp, Old Radnor

Independently owned and run by Chris and Angela Ireland, The Harp is a real pub, with ancient slate floors, oak beams, antique settles and a huge open log fire. Serving great food and a good selection of ales and wines.

Sugar & Spice Bistro

This wholesome cafe and bisto is well-loved locally and has a menu that ‘celebrates our love of Mediterranean cuisine’ with a great tapas menu, monthly special boards and delicious dishes from around the Med.
