We are looking to recruit an ambitious, self-motivated and practical farm or estate hand to work beside us at Fforest Fields Caravan & Camping Site and across our five hundred acre hill farm in the beautiful mid Wales countryside.
The work will be varied. It will include general maintenance tasks around the campsite, glamping yurts and holiday cottage; but will focus on helping us manage the estate and all that entails - including our fields, woodland, marshland, farm buildings, machinery and resources.
There is a lot to be done and you will be a hands on person, who is always ready to take on a new challenge. Alongside this you will also be someone who understands the importance of everyday tasks and hard graft. You need to have a sense of humour, as well as an ability to work well with people and alone. An interest in responsible farming techniques, which aim to create a balance between our use of the land and the complex natural ecosystem it also supports is also hugely beneficial.
Proven experience is essential, but we are open-minded as to how much experience or from which field our successful applicant comes from.
Fforest Fields is a multi-award winning campsite based in the heart of Wales. We welcome thousands of visitors every year to this patch of grass, to camp, stay in our yurts or in our holiday cottage. Our visitors love to explore our farm tracks, cook over campfires, jump in our lake and generally escape their day to day.
Our estate includes areas of marshland, woodland and large open fields. There are dozens of tracks for our visitors to walk on and areas on the farm to visit. They love the waterfall, woodlands and the look out point on the top farm track which commands fantastic views of Radnorshire.
We are a family business, and have been living on and working this land for three generations with the support of a talented team. Our focus for the last few years has been to develop the campsite and we love where it is and what it provides, we feel that the support of a capable estate hand will be a huge advantage for us.
