Llancaiach Fawr Manor is a Tudor manor house near the village of Nelson, located just to the north of the site of the former Llancaiach Colliery in the heart of the Rhymney Valley in South Wales.

Opening times

Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 5pm from January to Christmas (CLOSED from the 24th December to 3rd Jan)

CLOSED MONDAYS (including Bank Holidays).

Last admission to the house is 1 hour before closing. Please allow at least 1½ hours to see the house and additional time to view the gardens and exhibition.

Visitors step back in time to 1645 and are welcoming into the manor by the costumed servants who follow the traditional domestic and farming rhythms of life in the countryside. They share the folklore and customs of the changing seasons and news of the turmoil created by the civil war and its impacts upon their families.

The small formal 17th century gardens include a knot garden, pleached walk, orchard and physic and kitchen gardens featuring special of plants and trees from 1645 and earlier.
